District Collector holds the power of District Election Officer in the district. District Election Office, Kottayam is the one and only office in the district controlling all the election related works of both Election Commission of India & State Election Commission, Kerala. Election Commission of India conducts all the election related works such as preparation of Electoral roll, issuance of Voter ID Cards, approval of Polling stations for both State legislative assembly and Election to House of People.State Election Commission, Kerala conducts all the election related works such as preparation of Electoral roll, approval of Polling stations for the local self Government institutions.

Form-6 – Registration of new voters/electors

Form-7 – Deletion of Name from the Voter List

Form-8 –
a) Shifting of Residence Within the assembly constituency and outside the constituency.

b) Correction of entries in existing electoral roll,

c) Replacement of EPIC, and

d) Marking of Person with Disability.

Form-6A – Inclusion of name of Indian Citizen staying in foreign country

Form-6B – Submission of Aadhaar number of existing electors to authenticate the entries in the electoral rolls.
