New Bi-Lingual Website of Kottayam District Inaugurated

The new Bi-lingual website of Kottayam District of Kerala ‘https://kottayam.nic.in ‘, based on S3WaaS framework was officially launched on 05/06/2018 by Dr. B.S. Thirumeni IAS District Collector, Kottayam in the presence of Smt. Beena Ciril Podipara, DIO,NIC, Shri. K Rajan,ADM and District Officials . The revamped website provides enhanced user-friendly functionalities and interfaces, in compliance with GIGW (Guidelines for Indian Government Websites), Standard web site norms and robust security standards. The website was developed by NIC Kottayam, as part of Digital India Programme.

Smt. Beena Ciril Podipara, District Informatics Officer explained the features of the website during her presidential address. The Responsive Templates of the framework helped in delivering the District content across all devices like Mobile phones, Tablets, iPads, Laptops, Desktops etc. The Accessibility features of the new District website helps visually challenged and colour blind persons to browse and navigate the District website content easily and efficiently with the help of screen reader software. The Integrated Search facility of the framework helps in easy and fast discoverability of published content on the District website.

The website will also function as a point of information, ensuring better governance. The home page of the website features Historic and Geographic details of the District, Climate, Directory, Administrative setup, Elected Representatives, Departments, E-Governance, Tourism, Forms, Notices, Citizen centric Services, Public Utilities, Photogallery etc. It also connects the user to all the emergency Police and Helpline Numbers along with various Services.
